LifeWalk 2019

I walk because of the incredibly talented, compassionate, and tireless folks at Prism Health North Texas! It all started ten years ago at a LifeWalk outreach table being held at JR’s. My neighbor and friend, Terry Walker was a LifeWalk Steering Committee Member who volunteered to help raise awareness on the impacts of HIV/AIDS that night. You could tell he enjoyed volunteering his time to help raise money for the Dallas community and after helping a few times, I decided to join the LifeWalk Steering Committee the following year. The passion this group brings to pulling off the day of event and all the outreach tables, kickoff parties, pageants, and fundraising for six months prior is motivational and inspiring. While leadership and even the name of Prism Health North Texas has changed over the last ten years, the caliber of individuals in those roles has always been a top notch team of caring and dedicated professionals. They are truly dedicated to ending and treating HIV/AIDS. Listening and responding to changing community and unique individual needs as well as wanting us all to know our HIV status are a few of their strong suits. Combine all of these incredible folks, add LifeWalk teams, walkers, volunteers, supporters, and advocates and you have the reason I walk and volunteer proudly with the Prism Health North Texas team this October 6th.

What does LifeWalk mean to you? Each of us has a different reason for choosing to volunteer or sponsor the cause we are drawn to. Whether it be cancer research, natural disaster related, supporting kids, animals, or helping people impacted by HIV/AIDS, there is a story we each possess in our heads and in our hearts. There is a reason we give the precious commodities of time, talents, or money to help. What’s your story?
