Turtle Creek Chorale
THANK YOU for stopping by our team page and supporting us as we walk for LIFE!
The history of Turtle Creek Chorale runs parallel with the history of the LGBT community in Dallas. In 1980, TCC was a safe haven for like-minded men, and then with the onset of the HIV/AIDS crisis, we became a support network for both singing members and their families. In our 37 year history, TCC has lost over 200 members – most of them to HIV/AIDS. As we begin our 38th season, TCC continues to serve as an ambassador of equality – providing safe haven and acceptance to those searching for identity and support – and has served as part of the "coming-out" process for numerous members. As a force for change in both attitude and acceptance, we have made choral music our instrument for fostering community.
With the highest rate of infections in Texas, Dallas needs your help. By participating in LifeWalk, you are investing in the health and well-being of individuals and communities that you know, work, and hang out with every day. You assisting the organizations and agencies that continue the campaign for equality, speak with a voice of inclusion, and provide awareness for numerous worthy causes in the LGBT community in Dallas. Please donate and/or walk with us this year – together, we can help make an AIDS-free generation a reality.
