July's Featured Fundraiser:
As a child, I would stay at my grandma’s house nightly and help her as her arthritis progressed. I would also visit many of the senior citizens in the neighborhood. I first started visiting because I knew they had cookies or candy to hand out; but, my visits became so much more. I realized they loved my company and loved to tell me stories about their childhood. Before I knew it, I was gaining so much more than candy and cookies. I realized that when I made a difference in other people’s lives, it made a big difference in my own. I enjoy helping those less fortunate -the elderly, children and the sick, and have held Christmas toy drives, fried chicken dinner for the 40th Anniversary of the Kansas City Free Health Clinic, and countless brunches, dinners and other fundraisers.
In the past 7 years, Team Clover has raised almost $150,000 for the AIDSWalk of Kansas City & the Dallas LifeWalk. The bigger part of putting this team together is bringing so many friends and friends of friends together to make a difference in the society in which we live. Through the years, I have had friends tell me “thanks” for giving them a way to help and making it fun to raise money for charity. It feels good to get involved!
Raising funds for charity is a great way to channel my competitive side - What better way to do this than raising money for charity?
